I just posted this on another 3D printer forum and thought I’d share it here as well. I find these clips to be extremely useful for calibrating my filament when I’m doing precision prints.

I love these. I’ve never had luck through calibrating exactly through measurements, and I typically do 30 or so measurements. The best method I’ve found is through calibration prints.

However, this only works when mechanical issues are removed from the equation. Ringing, clogs, and steppers stalling will make this method fail.

@Stephanie_A Thank you! You are correct that a mechanically precise and stable printer is a given before you get to this level of calibration. Those same issues that will fail this method will mess up any calibration piece that is dependent on measurements, fit, or surface finish. If you don’t have the mechanical issues resolved first good luck getting good prints of any kind.

However, once the mechanical issues are resolved… Ah, sweet precision! That’s where pieces like these shine.

If you find the chance try these out let me know what you think.

I really like the performance of my printers.
