I just successfully printed my first pendant design on shapeways in several materials. I use a Tinkerines Ditto Plus for prototyping.

Nice. You could have warmed it before having it modelled. #pandown

The one in the picture is polished brass.

Can you print a polished brass door hinge cheaper than one made in a Chinese prison?

Lol @Randy_Turner I bet not. But l’m sure the brass turtle has more sentimental value than a chinese prison door hinge.

@Christopher_Lannon how did you cast the brass? And what equipment did you use other than a printer? Im interested in making some customer jewelry for my wife. Just got my 3d printer… still a casting and mold n00b.

Shapeways.com will do it for you and you can even set up shop and sell your stuff. They print the design in wax and create a plaster mold from that. If want to mold yourself, you can order the wax model from them as well. Check out my shop: http://www.shapeways.com/shops/mauidesigns

They print in precious metals too-- gold, silver, etc.
