I just upgraded my printer to a Azteeg x5 mini and I cant seem to get it to connect to my computer. I have installed the drivers and it looks to be fine in the device manager under COM7. But in when I try and connect I get this error. Has anyone else had this problem before

Huh. Yes, I have this problem with a Windows 7 x 64 build. So far I’ve found no fix but I have Ubuntu and osx machines too so I’ve not bother to find one. Can you see the SD card when you connect?

Yes I can. Can also view and edit the files on it

Same here. @Eclsnowman has one too. Not sure if he was using Windows though…

@Wolfmanjm may be able to provide some sagely guidance.

Ive never used Ubuntu before so I’m stuck on windows :frowning:

Not sure what Chip FT232R false is. Is this something in the config file

I would get this error if something else is connected to the device. Like you have the arduino IDE open and then open Repetier…

I connect to mine with a $99 winbook tablet (windows 8.1 x86). No problems here. Also Windows 7 x64 works just fine.

Sorry I cannot make a suggestion how to fix it.

I only have repetier open though. I was looking at the properties of the smoothieboard and it tells me “The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)” Do you think this is the problem

Oh yes! Install the drivers.

I have installed the drivers though. I’m currently unistalling them and reinstalling them to see if that works

well looks like that worked. Still cant connect using repetier but pronterface connects now.

There are some options within Repetier Host communications settings relating to toggling of DTR/RTS at connect.

I recall having to try some of the variations of those options to get Repetier Host to connect to my printer. Give that a try.

@Neil_Darlow Thanks that worked. I want to thank everyone for helping me find a solution for these problems.
