I just watched this video and I am very interested in the two apps mentioned. The first is Microsoft’s 3D Builder for Windows 8.1 (I miss XP), and the second is GCodePrintr for Android devices.

I own a 2013 Nexus 7 tablet and a Windows 8.1 PC, and my current experience with 3D printing is NIL (taking a makerspace class on Tuesday, printer arrives in May). I was wondering if these two bits of software were worth adopting early as I learn the skill. Has anyone here used either of them?

Oh, very good to know! TYVM!

Can you link the graphite app?

@Nikola_Danaylov it’s your voice isn’t it? Guess you have already more insights.

In the physics hehe. But seriously this makes a lot of sense.

@Custom_Creations So I am trying to test out the gcode simulator on my tablet. I grabbed a random file from thingiverse and tried to load it. It won’t load, I am guessing it is because it is the wrong format, do I need to run it through a intermediary program? Or is there a setting I need to change? It loads great on graphite.

Ah, so download the file, edit and save it in slic3r, upload it to my tablet, open it with GCodePrinter, then print it. (or for now, run as a simulation.)
