I located a gt2 pulley for 10mm shaft. our friends at misumi have it. it has 40 teeth and is the red highlight row below
too bad they cost $20 each
Yeah, that’s exactly the problem. If I converted the whole machine to belts, I’d spend $200 on pulleys alone.
only $40 to convert the drive from the motor and keep the spectra but still super steep
Pulleys are usually made to be bored to size by the customer - get one that is large enough, chuck it into the lathe and off you go.
problem for me is as of yet no drill press lathe or mill 
I have a lathe, if I could find some worthwhile pulleys to bore out.
they have some decent 32 tooth 8mm bore pulleys on ebay. I had some they were decent
