I made my first jack-o’-lantern today. Halloween has only started to take off over the last few years here in Australia (spurred on by retailers looking to cash in on the festivities, no doubt).
The upshot is that us Aussies now have easy access to carving pumpkins in October, so I picked one up and used my Dremel to carve it in my lunch break, then tossed some spare LED strip and an Arduino mini inside. I’m running the good old Fire2012 sketch
It’s not the most amazing jack-o’-lantern, but I’m proud of my first attempt and–as always–I’m amazed by how fast and easy it is to create something cool with FastLED!
