I managed to fix my @Printrbot simple metal’s bed tonight! I’ve had it for almost a year now, and have always had the same issue as other people with the standard bed not being completely flat. I bought a @ShapeOko 2 shortly after christmas, and have been looking for a project for it now that I’m feeling comfortable enough generating tool paths. I ran a few tests on some scrap aluminum I had to make sure it wouldn’t destroy my bits, and after it was successful, I set it to work on my printrbot’s bed. It worked beautifully, I still have one tiny low corner in the front right, but it’s so minor that it’s not really an issue.
You should invest in a fly cutter.
It’s on my shopping list for sure, probably could’ve done this in half the time.
Oooops, my bad - the tool I was thinking of was a “face cutter”. But, yeah - you knew what I was talking about.
