I need some help I know I read somewhere on how to make a outside radius a lot smoother and what I’m getting here. This was designed and tinkercad and sliced and slicer. What can I do to get the radius to have more line segments to make it appear smoother?

From my experience, (I could be wrong here) it’s mainly the CAD package. It’s all to do with how the CAD package forms arcs. EG, OpenSCAD uses multiple lines the amount is configured with the $fn variable, the greater the value, the more lines, the smoother the arc.

However, I’ve not actually used TinkerCAD, if it looks perfectly smooth on the CAD drawing, it’s most likely the way it’s exporting the STL to make the mesh. You may want to look at the settings to see if you can refine them.

Unfortunately, I can’ be of much more help than that due to never having used TinkerCAD

Can’t speak to TinkerCAD but in SolidWorks there is an option when saving as an STL to select the tolerance. Makes for very smooth surfaces, but also large STL files and really big gcode files.

@Ax_Smith-Laffin@jerryflyguy well I did find some backdoor way of adjusting tinkercad but decided it was time to move on. Had been testing the waters and trying to learn Fusion 360 and designed my first part with much better success…

Tinkercad is awesome for 10 year old’s learning cad. But once you figure out how it works its time to move one to something a little more capable.
