I need some help setting up my Printrbot Simple Pro with Cura.

I need some help setting up my Printrbot Simple Pro with Cura. Now that Printrbot has closed it doors, it appears the cloud slicer is no longer working (This is why I have always been wary of products that place the control out of the users hands, like the Glowforge laser for example.)

I set it up according to the instructions that are still available on the Printrbot web site, but every time I try to run a print it goes into alarm state 2 as soon as it starts the print. Any ideas of what I have done wrong?

Any constructive help will be greatly appreciated. I love my Printrbot Simple Pro and want to be able to keep using it.

Have you taken a look at the terminal output?

Did not yet. I will make that the next step (Forgot about it to be honest)

@funinthefalls Terminal output is usually the best place to look for errors. It’ll probably tell you what’s going on. Good luck.

Thanks. Laptop is tied up doing just that on a Di3 that has a smoothieboard in it. Random halt errors screwing up prints. But for the last 5 hours with the laptop connected waiting for an error to happen…nothing. Just my luck :slight_smile:

Well I have run into an issue with using pronterface on the simple pro, as soon as I connect pronterface the Simple Pro stops dead in its tracks and stops responding. I think the touch display is conflicting with the USB connection. The board is g2Core based, does it allow for 2 serial connections at once?

Perhaps @Eclsnowman can help. Check also this post and look for his comments. :slight_smile: https://plus.google.com/u/0/+KurtMeister/posts/JudyYWCFmWQ

@enhydra Thanks for the link.

OK, cloud slicing seems back up, so I am OK for the moment. But I still want to get this configuration resolved.

@enhydra unfortunately I don’t know much about the G2core based board. The printrbot pro (alpha unit) Brook donated, and that I refurbished for the local robotics club ran a printrboard f5.
