I need to revert my arduino IDE after allowing an update. I’m using FastLED 3.1, current code version, and I didn’t see the warning until after the update. What version of arduino works best for that? I went back to 1.5.5 and I’m still getting asm errors at compile time.
Weird - what platform are you building for and what os are you using and what are the actual errors that you are seeing? I’ve used/tested arduino 1.0.5, 1.0.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, and 1.6.0 and 1.6.3
I had very very slow compilation problems when I updated to Arduino IDE 1.6.3 using a MEGA 2560 on my PC running WIN-7 64 bits.
Went back to 1.0.6 and everything was OK. Now in the Arduino options, I block it from annoying me with messages that a newer IDE version is available !
Problem solved. When arduino reinstalled it defaulted to the wrong board.
Yes, but @JP_Roy you are also building a rather pathological, and edge, use case. This person is reporting the asm syntax errors, which shouldn’t be happening, hence why I’m asking him for more details.
Hi @Daniel_Garcia ,
hmmm… Pathological…
Merriam-Webster / pathological: extreme in a way that is not normal or that shows an illness or mental problem.
DOH !!
Don’t worry, I’m not upset or frustrated (quite the opposite actually…
Just happy to find myself on a bleeding edge !!
Bleeding edge? Cotton wadding and duct tape should take care of that.
If duct tape is good enough for NASA, it’s good enough for improvised surgical dressings.
