I put some of my extra LEDs in my new fireplace. Looks much better than the halogen bulbs. I wasn’t sure if it would be able to take the heat or not but that area is far enough below and separated from the fire that it works fine. I ran on high for around six hours and there was no damage to the LEDs.
Looks great! I’d love to see a video, if you get a chance. 
I’ll try to get one this weekend after I get everything all hooked up. In the mean time, if anyone has any good fire type demo that might look good, let me know
