I put this puppy together hoping that I would have a printer ready to roll out of the box. Alas, no. The frame is good. Instructions, good, motors, good, printed parts, metal parts, all good. Plugged it in, and presto, magic smoke. Still LCD controller lets me run the board, I can move one Z motor, the Y motor and the extruder. Nada on X (no matter what I do with the on board setpper driver), and one Z refuses to budge. Alas, not to be. I am guessing the board is kaka and it’s time to drop in one pf @raykholo ’s boards…or wait…my Azteeeg…or my Smoothie…or a Rumba…or…my Sainsmart 2-in-1. Who am I kidding, Ray’s board is sitting here staring at me. Might also have to replace the M8 threaded rods with TR8 leadscrews…
I build printers like nobody’s business. Plus I seem to always find the worst clone boards…lol
Is that the “Spider” or blackwidow can’t remember the name… there was a bit of controversy of a printer like this because they had the openbuilds logo smeared on their ad but was made in China
Its a printer from HiCTop. Mechanically it’s very nice but the board…ugh
C3D for the win! Update us when the new board is in.
Remix is on. Notice the bus bar because the motor connectors aren’t viable for the remix.

And here’s the culprit on the original board. A blown driver. This remix btw, gets 8825 drivers.

@Samer_Najia i guess you cant get a replacement/upgrade to that particular piece are you? Thats what i usually do when any circuit (not 3d printer related) dosent work the way i wanted, sometimes i mess it out but… it works most of the time

@lightshadown just can’t wait that long for a board to come from China
Well we have a configured board…well, initially anyway. Had to come up with an adapter plate.

And…the LCD

So I can also report that the board was some sort of Smoothie/MKS clone with hardwired drivers on the board. The X driver IC totally fried and that pretty much killed the board.
And to add to that the reason it fried was partially my fault. I checked and it seems one of the terminal blocks is labeled in reverse. Silly me. That’ll teach me…
