I recently backed Kudo3D’s new Bean 3D printer on Kickstarter at the $499 level. I visited their office today to see the printer in action and made a video to share what I found. In total disclosure, I also visited last week, where I discussed the video with Tedd, so it’s not totally impromptu. They don’t pay me or anything, I just wanted to share some due diligence.

The Bean has some similarity to the Titan 1, which I backed and have owned for 2 years, in that it has a hinged but passive peeling tray design. However, this printer is much smaller and uses an LCD panel backed by an 405nm LED array for a net 50 micron XY resolution. This tech stack also allows them to hit a $399/$499 pre-release price point.
