I see astronomers are slowly bowing down to the all mighty 3d printers ;)

I was missing the autostar cradle from the scope I just bought used.
I didn’t like the autostar handheld computer computer just flopping around while I observed.

I saw they were for sale on Meade’s website for 20 bucks plus shipping and of course I’d have to wait for it to arrive.

I decided to make one as there were none for download anywhere in STL format.

I took measurements off the mount with a caliper and CAD’ed the model in solidworks, exported to STL and printed it.

The bolt hole pattern is 1.25" on center at .150" in through hole diameter and .300" in washer diameter.

Print time was 90mins out of ABS and I used the Makerbot replicator 2x.

I’m uploading the model to http://thingyverse.com for anyone else who needs one and has access to a 3d printer.

What else could I print to accessorize the scope?
