I think I’m ready to throw this god damn Makerbot clone out the god damn window. I can only ever print properly if I use the sh-tty ReplicatorG software. Using Octoprint or anything else and it just does this sh-t.
It must have something to do with the G-code to GPX conversion because this happens regardless of Slicer.
Has anyone seen this kind of behaviour? Anyone have any tips? I’ve been trying to fix this for days and have made ZERO progress.
Ok ive finally fixed this problem. It seems to have been caused by the setting ‘Recalculate extrusion’ in the GPX plugin. It was set to YES, I’ve changed it to no and its printing somewhat better.
Next problem is that the printer is printing way off the platen, rather than in the middle.
dude I have same machine, I flashed mine with sailfish and it works fine btw. I had a problem with it once - it randomly during the printing starts to go one direction opposite of end stops and slamming iteslf hardtime. It was SD card, for some reason got used up. I changed it to a new one and it prints ok. I replaced the belts too.
@Piotr_Sitko I recently got mine flashed to Sailfish. Took me ages to get the flashing process to work. It fixed some things but still have a few issues.
If I connect my laptop to the printer and use the ReplicatorG software for Makerbots it prints absolutely fine.
Using anything else just gives me no end of trouble.
I’ve fixed the problem in the video, it was a setting in the GPX plugin in Octoprint. Problem I have now is the prints aren’t centered. It’s gotta be a Slic3r setting, just can’t seem to find which one.
Sailfish firmware, works perfectly, over two years now. And once you get a sailfish version that works, don’t ever upgrade firmware again, then you can use Simplify or Slic3r or anything else
Flashing the firmware can be touchy on some, the reset button is hard to get too, and you have to time it just right, but I mainly use Simplify3d for generation, then send them to an RPi 3 running gcode printer, which sends me real time video, running stats and progress, allowing local or off-site downloads to the RPi box, but I never print unless I am on site.
Someone is looking for attention! Let’s talk about how we can 3D print you a friend because that fits more with this community and you are obviously a lonely person.
