I think I've finally got the hang of printing nylon.

I think I’ve finally got the hang of printing nylon.

Any tips or tricks to share with the community?

@Dwayne_Terry yeah, don’t print really large stuff.

@Dwayne_Terry Here are some of the basic settings I used:

Nozzle dia: .4 mm
Retraction distance: 5 mm
Retraction speed: 50 mm/s
Layer height: .2 mm
Extruder Temp: 248°
Bed Temp: 60° (will probably go a little higher next time since the bottom slightly warped)
Part fan: Off
Speed: 55 mm/s
Outline Underspeed: 80%
Solid Infill Underspeed: 90%

Hope this helps!

@Derek_Cameron What surface did you print it on? I either had to much adhesion (Tufnol) or to little (Gluestick)

@Bjorn_Marl PEI + Gluestick

Thanks, i never tried the two together.

@Bjorn_Marl It’s not perfect, but no setup is. Most of the time my problem is having parts that stick too well to the bed. I’d much rather have that problem than having them not stick at all.

Has anyone tried printing nylon (I have Taulman 318) on glass with gluestick? I’ve been sitting on a spool for over a year (working on my Phd in procrastination).

nice quality!! taulman bridge is my favorite material. with elmers school glue gluestick on an aluminum bed.
