I tried a few different materials for the gears. Here is Nylon, PET+, and PETG. I think the PETG came out the best. I have used PETG in the past and it is super strong. It is harder than the Nylon but not as brittle as PLA. I don’t plan on printing any of the Truggy parts out of PLA. These parts have not been cleaned up. They are pretty much right off the printer.
what temp do you print the taulman at? i have had a had time with it delaminating not only from the heated print surface but also itself.
I printed the 618 at 245C on blue painter’s tape. Bed at room temp. I did have one of the gears come loose from the bed. I will have to pick up a piece of Poplar to print on. For small things the nylon has stuck to the painters tape.
thanks ill try the higher temps, when i tried before it was popping a bit so maybe i need to oven dry it before i print.
Yeah. You will get pops and steam If the nylon is not dryed.
well i always have kept it in zip lock bags with silica packets, inside of a Tupperware bin that’s also has a bunch of silica packets and a moisture absorbing pouch, but i never tried drying it in the oven, i need to look up how to do that.
