I tried a glue stick on my unheated glass bed tonight. PLA stuck like a charm. So did the glue stick residue…
What works best to clean the gunk off glass?
Thanks for answers, but I’m not using the diluted white glue or a heated bed. I’m using a glue stick on cold glass and I definitely will need to clean it off at some point (though it probly won’t be for a while) or it will start to affect my 1st layer height.
@Roger_Waggener as it says on the package, it should come off with water. Try leaving it to soak for a couple of minutes if it’s dried that much.
Razor scraper works for me!
Water works everytime. Warm water. Very simple.
yeah glue sticks i use are water soluble… haven’t seen any that aren’t…
Did you let the glue stick dry first? I’ve had similar results with aquanet hairspray but sometime spray can fumes can’t be used in a school setting.
Window cleaner soak for a few mins. Then scrape, I use old fashioned flat bendy butter knife, then rinse off window cleaner.
You don’t let the glue stick dry. I mean it’s not the end of the world either. For me it was an issue when I started to put more on top. The glue would be a few layers thick without realizing it and the hotend would go through it like it was finger painting.
