I tried the new Taulman Bridge Nylon with my Merlin Nozzle. I just love the material. The results with 618 were very mixed, but Bridge is a totally different game. Delamination is simply unknown to this stuff and it is rugged as hell. I will love abusing the hell out of it
Anyone else with experiences with this stuff?

Im going to try nylon645 for the first time tomorrow. Any good tips for a first timer?
Sorry, I never tried 645.
@Markus_Granberg , keep the 645 away from moisture…
Nice. Where can one buy Bridge in Germany?
If ‘Bridge’ had more colours I would use it for everything ! @Markus_Granberg Slow, very slow for first layer, wide brim and skirt, and good luck ! You can increase speed up to 30 mm/s after first layers.
Well I’m for one not happy with it. It’s jamming in SS barrel of my E3D. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I did notice somewhat larger diameter filament of around 1.85mm. Anyone else with same experience?
@Matej_Rozman I’ve printed a lot of Bridge, never had a jam. Like all nylon’s it’s not very sticky so it won’t be the same issues as pla. Try increasing the temp and make sure your nozzle is free from debris. Nylon is good for cleaning nozzles but that also means it can dislodge charred plastic while printing which can then clog the nozzle.
@Matej_Rozman Please contact us via our site as we like to see positive experiences with our lines. Nylon is difficult to process as it has to be both extruded and drawn during the mfg process. But we have had the processes in place for some time now and we want feedback to take to the machine operators on the floor. Every complaint we get is logged and relayed to our mfg to make our lines the best we can. Also, we have the E3D’s and other HE’s in-house and constantly run tests to try and stay ahead of any issues.
@Markus_Granberg Dry that nylon. In an oven at 60 degrees overnight ideally. You need to be sure it’s actually at 60 otherwise you can melt the spool.
Then, keep it dry. I put mine in a Tupperware container with a Bowden tube feeding the filament to the extruder. The Tupperware container has bags of desiccant in it too.
For large prints it warps more than ABS and will pull kapton and blue tape of the bed. The only sure way of preventing this is printing on tufmol/garolite sheets.
Bridge is a much less challenging nylon copolymer in comparison - needs less drying, prints on pva coated glass, doesn’t warp so much etc.
@Tim_Rastall thanks, but nozzle is okay its actually jamming in the barrel. Have had this happen three times with new set of barrel/nozzle combo, then gave it up. Would love to use it though, from what I could print was awesome.
@Bjorn_Marl Thank you for your great comments on "Bridge’. It really is a hammer proof polymer that we love here as well. @Andreas_Kahler Check our site, but I’m not sure the resellers in Germany carry Bridge just yet.
@Andreas_Kahler I got my spool second hand from a guy on the german reprap forum. It will not be my last one
http://www.plastic2print.com/eu/1-75mm-taulman-bridge-nylon-0-45kg.html has it in stock, i have very good experience with them and will order from them once my spool runs out, which might be the end of the week
@Tom_Martz Yes, checked the resellers in Europe, none of them has Bridge yet. Would it be possible to get a sample for the @FabLab_Munchen directly from you?
As it turns out leaving bridge in a heated nozzle for to long will clog it. This happened with one of my merlins as well as a hexagon. I’ll have to be more carefull.
