I turned some diffusors from fresh maple on the lathe. The thickness of the lamp shades is arround 0,8 mm. But the 50 Hz flicker from the led bulb annoys me, so FastLED and some APAs will be involved soon.

It was in the wood. It´s a little branch starting inside the trunk. While hollowing I sharpened my tool every minute and just prayed that the eye will not fly away. I was lucky that the efford payed out.
Quite the gamble with the “eye”! If I saw that showing up I probably would have turned just one side and then coated with fiberglass resin or something to hold it in place while turning the other side. It’s those “flaws” that really make wood a beautiful medium.
Some APA there… I would love to see any difusser able to enhance the color change up on my own mood…
