I want to give a shot at Cura on my PrintrBot, anyone got some known working settings I can start with ?
Isn’t Printrbot in the drop down?
It is but I somewhat doubt the values as it set’s the print area to 150mm x 150mm x 150mm
@Brook_Drumm here is what is in the Printrbot.ini file:
[machine]
machine_name = PrintrBot
machine_type = RepRap
machine_width = 150
machine_depth = 150
machine_height = 150
machine_center_is_zero = False
has_heated_bed = True
gcode_flavor = RepRap (Marlin/Sprinter)
extruder_amount = 1
[profile]
filament_diameter = 2.85
nozzle_size = 0.5
layer_height = 0.2
fill_density = 10
print_speed = 30
print_temperature = 240
travel_speed = 150
To me at least the machine_width, machine_depth, machine_height, nozzle_size and filament_diameter look bad.
Yeah, some of that is wrong. ;(
.4 nozzle
1.75 filament ymmv
Size is relative to machine
Speed… Also a choice, but I print at 60
Heated bed is relative to machine
@Brook_Drumm Thanks, I’ll give that a shot tonight.
BTW keep up the great work, The Printrbot Simple (got the late 2013 model) is just amazing !
Just need to fine tune mine a bit more as the fishing line was missing from my kit (got some through your support team) so I was using whatever I believed was closest and I could get locally. (what is the spec of that fishing line anyway ?)
Thanks! Will do. We use 200lb test Kevlar but it’s probably overkill.
Yikes, that’s going to be hard to find here local on the south shore of Montreal !
Thanks for the info.
@Andre_Courchesne1 you can get that type of Kevlar from kite shops.
@Brook_Drumm FYI a PrintrbotSimple.ini file was added in the git repo for Cura following a ticket I filled:
Ok, well, I thing I’ll stick with Repetier. Cura prints faster but I’m having first layer adherence issues.
