I want to make a night light for my granddaughter that starts of at a set brightness and fades over a period of time down to a low, night-light level once she’s asleep.

I have it going form a sparkly, full-colour palette to a more muted slow-change pinks and reds palette after an hour, but am having fun getting it to set the brightness. Can I use the FastLED.setBrightness command anywhere?

Is it simply a function of creating a variable that slowly decrements to the desired level and using FastLED.setBrightness(BRIGHTNESS) ?

Sorry for the n00b level question - I’m much better with a soldering iron than I am with C.

You have it exactly right - call setBrightness whenever you want and the next time you call show that will be used!
