I wanted to do this, but they were out of the orange colored lamps when I went to IKEA. I’m glad to see someone else did it!

Would a continuous rotation servo be able to wind up / pull on the string? That could be a lot cheaper than using the NEMA 17 stepper.

Hey there, i just started using servos, and i would say definately could work, you may need to torque it up with some gears… depends on the weight. the ones ive been playing with are the towerpro mg995… and they petty strong and cheap :slight_smile: around 6-10 euros, about 12 dollars :slight_smile:
