I was board yesterday so I made this box on my Shapeoko and put a marble inside that can’t come out. Thanks to @Michael_Omiccioli for his amazing limit sensors.
Looks awesome, well done! What does the limit switch allow you to do? I’m probably wrong, but don’t they just tell the SO when the end of travel is reached?
They allow me to get back to an exact position when it’s left. So I home the machine then enter the coordinates to go right back to my center of the block. They also stop the machine from crashing into the ends but that’s not the main purpose. If you’ve ever worked with production cnc machine cutting cabinets you need limit sensors to get back to exact positions to get your stuff cut out. @Andrew_Spurgeon
