I was lucky enough to 3D-scan my grandfather before he passed away earlier this year. As a tribute and gift for my mother, aunt’s and uncles. I 3D printed the scan and then molded the print. From the molds, I created cold-casted bronze statues and trophy mounted them. Here’s the end results :slight_smile:

Very nice

What scanner did you use? I think this would be a great thing for people to have

@James_Nelson The scanner was a prime sense… Very similar to a Microsoft Kinect

Wow cool. I’ve used a Kinect, never been able to get that kind of feature resolution. great job. any details on software or settings/setup would be great. Awesome job.

Beautiful. I wish we had been able to do the same with my step-dad, who passed in May.

How did you made the molds?

@Luis_Diaz I used a 2-part (A/B) silicon mold. There are a ton of you tube videos

@Loren_Brandenburg thanks! I want to make a necklace for my gf and didn’t know how to get started with this!

@Loren_Brandenburg Do you rent it out to others with fathers? It could pay for itself in awhile.

@Loren_Brandenburg thanks!

@Gary_Deen I’'m not positive of your question?
@Luis_Diaz Hit me up if you got any questions

@Loren_Brandenburg thanks a lot :slight_smile: I love this community, anyone always like to help :slight_smile:

What a wonderful way to remember him by! :slight_smile:
