I was partway into a print and my extruder quit working correctly. It just rocks back and forth, no matter which direction I want it to go. It will do this with the guide pulley fully backed off. I can assist it a little, but it’s almost like it’s missing a step. Has anyone had this problem with their Anet A8’s?
Oh… the video is bad because I spilled water on my pixel last night.

There can be two things:

  1. cable is broken
  2. motor drivers is broken

@Hakan_Evirgen You got me pointed in the right direction. I located a break in the red wire going to the stepper motor. I bypassed the part cooling fan for a fish tank bubbler earlier this year, so I was able to use the existing wires. If I havent already, I’ll post a build on that modification.

FYI: if you get your phone wet, don’t worry. Find a vacuum chamber, throw your phone in and take down to about -6 bar for a few minutes. Here’s a random photo after the chamber:
