I was printing with 1.75mm ABS (Galaxy Blue) bought from Local manufacturer (250gm Spool)

I was printing with 1.75mm ABS (Galaxy Blue) bought from Local manufacturer (250gm Spool) and got pretty good results. With that I ordered another 1Kg of same ABS.
I tried to print, but the filament was not extruding properly. I tried upto 250C (originally printing with 240C only), but the filament will extrude for some 100mm, then it will stop. Again I have to push with hand, then it will extrude for another 100mm.
I am using Prusa i3 with E3d V6 Lite.
I hope the batches between the different spool may be a problem? The diameter fluctuates between 1.65-1.82. What could the maximum diameter the hot end can accept?
I hope that the filament extrude properly when the diameter is small and stop extruding once the diameter is big. Then after pushing that portion by hand, again it extrudes properly.
Any suggestions?

That is a terrible tolerance rate. Mine never goes more than a hundredth of a mil more or less off of 1.75. I would return that spool

Strictly Inland Brand from Microcenter. $14.99 a kilo and prints really well

Put a very small amount of canola on your fingertip and rub it on the filament spool…in a short while of printing the inside of your nozzle will be lubed…been there done that…even had to do it to end with micrometer filament…no jams for months now…don’t over do it

Now that a good idea @Ronald_Whittington , going to try it.

It doesnt take much, and I have several printers running, I even had to do this to an E3D that wouldnt pass PLA.
I will tell you that when cooled the canola will be tacky on the nozzle, if you use too much the first print may have a drip at the nozzle, so go easy.
Once I have applied it in a swipe across a reel, with my finger or a q tip, I never have to reapply.
A freind of mine also clips a sponge like wrap on his filament and canolas the sponge, so it wipes all of his line, he swears by it, but I havent tried it.
All I can swear to is that I had 5 different J Heads, even the fabled E3D, and they all jammed all the time until I did this.
I now run dual $15 Jheads from China with no modifications, and canola treatment and print up to 30 hours at a time with no issues.

When I spoke with my filament supplier, he suggested to remove the first 5-10m of filament and give a try. He told that there may be chances of some bad touch at the end of the spool (means the start for the print). I cut 10m of filament and started printing. Ok… the filament started extruding and started printing too… But, the results were not pretty good as other spools.

I have no desire to throw away product everytime…but it may be a good test
