I was thinking of CNCing a water cooled single nozzle hot end, that would be like half the size of a J-head to squeeze every bit of Z-axis travel out of a printer. Would people be interested in purchasing something like this?

You can already squeeze every bit of Z axis travel out of a printer simply by using a design like the i3, (vert carriage without a boundary) and mounting your nozzle so that it sits near the bottom of the X carriage.
