I wonder if a bunch of 3D print designers will be filing a class action lawsuit against a certain company. That should be a rather cost effective way to do things. If the lawyer only gets paid out of money successfully extracted from the company, it would be cost free too.
Would that just redistribute the new funds from Stratasys or take the hundreds of millions of USD into account that %company would have made with copyright violations over the next few years?
I imagine Stratasys might still appeal the court case. It is hard to tell.
I am not sure what amount should be asked for. I am only sure that making a single court case would be the most cost effective. Split any financial burden and get a decent lawyer… although seriously, I think it is so obvious what the answer should be to the court case.
As for defamation, I think they deserve any insults to them that they get and any defamation charges related to them breaking creative commons licenses will be overturned by the guilty verdict in the creative commons violation class action lawsuit.
