I wonder if anyone can help me.

I wonder if anyone can help me. I busy trying to build a Gmax 3D Printer. I have downloaded the STL files but I have a problem. The files are for 20x20mm Aluminium extrusions and I can only get 30x30mm extrusions.
I like to use Fusion 360 to try and adjust the STL files so that I can use the Part on 30x30mm extrusions. The problem is that you can not really adjust the part when its in STL file.
Anyone know I can adjust some of the files to fit the 30x30mm or might have the Cad files.
I would appreciate your help, thanks

Hi @Vaughan_Lundin are you sure Fusion 360 can’t work with STL files? Autodesk 123D can import STL files as a model which can then be used in boolean operations (which is probably all you’d need to do) and I’m sure Fusion must have a similar option. The output would need to be cleaned with netfabb, but I do that with almost all models anyway before printing.

Thanks Jon, Its just that the parts are for 3D printer and not sure if the sizes will be correct etc. Not sure if I get that perfect size etc. I try that and see. Thanks

Inside fusion 360 there is an option to change mesh to Brep solid. This works well except in meshes with lots of triangles. In those situations import the stl into mesh mixer and remesh it with a triangle budget of 90000. Then bring it back into Fusion and convert to Brep. I know this is all very vague but there are lots of you tube videos that walk through the process in detail.

Thanks @Travis_Cage , Appreciate the help. Will try
