I wrote an article over on 3Dprintingindustry with an aim to stimulate some further discussions about the use of 3D printing plastic, recycling, quality, cost, materials and technology - http://bit.ly/1h2NutA

Please discuss what you think about the current situation, where you believe it’s going. Also what are your thoughts on the recycling system proposed by http://www.ethicalfilament.org/ and anything else too.

Yah good read and good questions to ask.

Consumers are already pretty well trained to give preference to recycled and “green” products.

There is definitely a (premium) market if the quality is there

+1 for PETE!

Hi Rich, did you ever see Mike Biddle’s TED talk:
polymers http://www.ted.com/talks/mike_biddle.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TEDTalks_video+(TEDTalks+Main+(SD)+-+Site)

Thanks @Mark_Durbin I didn’t see that, will watch tonight.

Step 1 - process waste water with biodigester and then photobioreactor

Step 2 - Dry algae using solar drier

Step 3 - Use concentrated solar gasification

Step 4 - Assemble long chain hydrocarbons

Step 5 - Synthesis bioplastic.

Plastic made from poo.

With ethicalfilament can individuals be thought how to produce their own non ogm pla ?
Do you consider ogm pla as ethical ?
No polemic idea in these questions. Just to have some thoughts and better understanding of ethicalfilament :-).
