IKEA LAMPAN lamp with 90 APA102C RGB LEDs,

IKEA LAMPAN lamp with 90 APA102C RGB LEDs, driven with a Particle Core and FastLED. The LEDs are arranged into a 6x15 matrix. Controlled with a small web app over Wi-Fi. I’ll post some build pics, source code, and more details soon. Thank you all for the inspiration, and for making this stuff so much easier!

Here’s my second attempt at a RGB LED lamp, this time a bit smaller and using a Particle Core, which allows easy control over Wi-Fi. I made a small 2D matrix of LEDs, instead of just a strip like the last lamp. This allows effects that wrap around the lamp horizontally 360 degrees, in addition to vertical motion.

Love it!!

(And I’d be lying if I said that I hadn’t relit a LAMPAN myself too!)

Thanks Mark! Yeah, they’re very easily hackable, and hard to beat for $5.
