I’m building my first 3D printer (Wellman K8200). I’m at the stage that I had worked all engines in manual mode. The next day, however, the Z-axis motor stopped spinning and just pulsates back and forth. It does this even after disconnecting mechanism - no load. It’s something known? Can I connect motor on the board to a different output? To see if this is the engine? I’m just talking about manual mode.
That can happen if you are trying to spin it too fast. Lower speed and try again ?
Check the motor wiring - this could be one of the motor wires having come loose.
I had this happen to me. Part of the printer had hooked on some wires and pulled a connector part way out.
Last but not least, also check the trim pot on the Z Axis stepper driver.
So today I threw on the plate axis Z and Y, still pulsing the engine Z and Y axis runs fine, just in different proportions. So I concluded from this that it must be in the cable. The connector looks good. Tomorrow I measure it. It can also act a defective engine?
