I’m finally starting my build. I’m one minute in and I’m already stuck. First, are there instructions for the SMW3D kit or should I just follow the OX CNC Build videos?
The problem that I’ve hit is with attaching the wheels to the plates. According to my calipers, my screws are 26mm long. They don’t seem long enough. That 26mm is taken up by a 2mm thick screw head, a 6.2mm thick plate, a 6.4mm thick spacer, a 1.0mm washer, an and a 11.00mm wheel. That works out to 26.6mm, leaving nothing for the nut to attach to.
Is the thing I’m calling a washer really a shim that should go between the bearings on the wheel? Am I missing something else obvious?
I don’t have my OX yet, but it uses the same wheels as my MM3. Each of those wheels came in a separate bag, and the washer in the bag goes between the bearings which go inside the wheels. I seem to recall reading somewhere that you needed 30mm screws (and I would have expected the kit to come with some?)
I also thought that the OX kit from smw3d was supposed to come with a manual.
Mark. Great president’s day activity! The kit we sell has constantly evolved, the build instructions are very new (only on rev.1). Sent you a message, hopeful they will be helpful in your build!
