Im having a bit of trouble getting my printrbot simple calibrated correctly my prints get cut off in some spots and other spots the extruder will go over one line 3 or 4 times when it should only lay 1 layer at a time. Any suggestions on what settings to check first or a good website to look at to help fix this? Also im using the repetier software that printrbot suggests and have either skeinforge or slic3r is there any real difference of advantage to using one over the other
Probably z-axis. If your z-motor is moving to fast (max speed, acceleration, jerk), you will see skipped steps. Slow it down. Make sure everything is running smoothly, Small misalignments can have nasty effects.
If you are not very experienced with 3d printing, I would give skeinforge a miss.
ok thanks for the suggestions ill start there
whats the best type of file to upload for repetier? im using stl right now is this the best or should i change
Sounds more like you’re trying to print outside of the build area. How large is your part and did you center it on the virtual printbed?
yea i had it centered and the program showed it all working out fine. I just updated my version of repetier and changed a couple settings now my printer is working great thanks
@jason_mullenix In my opinion the best type of file would be .stl.
