I'm looking for a high density 32x32 matrix, a premade 32x32,

I’m looking for a high density 32x32 matrix, a premade 32x32, not 4x 16x16 which I already have and the 16x16 panels everyone seems to be selling are just too big for my use.
Basically I’d like 32x32 that can fit on or under my shirt.
Exactly like http://www.themeu.net/ but with 32x32 instead of only 16x16 or 16x32.
I’ve just really struggled in finding higher density arrays, and yet, they exist, I’ve seen one in the wild from a limited run that I can’t buy sadly (picture below)

Does anyone have a lead on where I could get that?

Most of the HD pixel displays i have seen online have been RGB arrays(driven through their own micro) not addressable pixels. Ray Wu on aliexpress has a few panels like this but they are not as HD as you would like

@Leon_Yuhanov I know the HD displays you are talking about, they are used for signs and need an FPGA or a very fast micro controller.
I have a panel on this picture in the lower right, it’s 32x16 and 32x32 would be fine with it, but it’s just way too thick, not ok to stick on or under a shirt. Also, it’s a scan refresh array, it definitely requires non trivial work to update and that would be incompatible with doing infrared reading, which is also interrupt driven.

So there is this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/P10-APA102-full-color-RGB-indoor-LED-Display-unit-panel-28-28pixels-280mm-280mm-Aluminum-plate/32644720842.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.XBaESF but its not flexible! and there is also this https://www.adafruit.com/product/3211 but not addressable OR FLEXIBLE

Thanks @Leon_Yuhanov , the same seller also has this: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/30-40-pixels-RGB-full-color-WS2812B-Flexible-LED-Pixel-Panel-Light-DC5V/701799_32601735218.html?spm=2114.12010608.0.0.6fb97e59BaMMZW too bad that it’s not quite 32 pixels (only 32), but it’s probably the most promising I found, except for size as you mention (it’s way way too big)

@Leon_Yuhanov https://www.aliexpress.com/item/P10-APA102-full-color-RGB-indoor-LED-Display-unit-panel-28-28pixels-280mm-280mm-Aluminum-plate/32644720842.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.XBaESF looks more promising, at least the LEDs are closer, but they’re still big pixels, so the density isn’t quite there. 28cm across non flexible, just won’t work on a shirt either.
Hopefully I’ll find something smaller.

@Marc_MERLIN I think if you want any kind of flex, DIY using the SK6812 3553 144ppm strips

@Leon_Yuhanov I see. If I’m stuck with this as the last option, I will. Just that DIY a 32x32 doesn’t sound like fun after I did 24x24, but eh, it remains an option

@Marc_MERLIN Hi, why you do not want to consider 4 flexible panels of 16X16 or 8X32 ?

Like… https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/8-32-Pixel-RGB-WS2812B-WS2812-small-flexible-LED-panel-Screen/1043619_32572031946.html?spm=2114.10010108.1000023.2.33c5505fd9YB4q

@JP_Roy I’m ok with 4x 16x16 if I must, that’s what I have right now, but the resulting size is too big.
The one you listed, which is the one I have, is 32cm wide for 32 pixels, which is way too big for a shirt.

@Marc_MERLIN hmmm… what size are you looking for with the 32X32 matrix ?

@JP_Roy 22cm wide at most would be great. Maybe 25cm if it’s flexible.

I found one 32x32 that’s not available any more:
https://www.tindie.com/products/robogeek78/flexible-led-array-32x32-ws2812-ws2813/

30*22 is one of the largest I found:

@Stefan_stelb_Le_Bret merci pour les références. The sold out one is so totally what I needed. I contacted the seller just in case he gets some back or whatever, it’s a perfect match. The 22x30 sadly is just too small for 32x32 sprites, but it fits the shirt at least. If I find absolutely nothing else, maybe I can make do with it?

Adafruit has a 64 x 64 that seems up your ally. Note: they state that it has a very different driver and thus probably does not work with FastLED. https://www.adafruit.com/product/3649

ebay has similar for less https://www.ebay.com/itm/P2-Full-color-RGB-Dot-Matrix-Display-64x64-Red-Green-Blue-LED-Panel/332561063583?hash=item4d6e2f1e9f:g:cH8AAOSwCbtZxQyV

@Mark_Estes yes, I have one of those as a scanning array (mine is 32x16). The density is great, but it’s also almost 1 inch thick, not ok for a shirt.
Also, they require a beefy-ish computer to drive, there seems to be no arduino library for them.

If you want to go really tiny, there are the APA102 2020 chips which are 2mm square…

You could make a 32x32 from 16 of these:

It would be very thin, but only about 10cm square.
