I’m looking for examples of workshop organisation. I’m going mad trying to figure out the best way to do it.
Some pics or ways you guys have done it.
Pinterest has apparently become just another way to sell click bait.

What is it you are trying to organize? CNC use workshop? CNC building workshop?
All of this. But it’s for the screws bolts nuts etc small hand tools although that in a drawer works ok. And in general just sort the clutter.
I thought of a pegboard and hanging ziplock bags with screws on that but that’s going to look more cluttered. Right now it’s compartment tool boxes but I’ve filled up 5 and I’ve not really dented it.
I’ve used this type of trays to put all the stuff (in bags) inside .

Maybe a shelf system for these and if it’s the answer I don’t mind getting another 10 of them but that why I’m just taking a step back and seeing what others have done.
@Miguel_Sanchez it seems the way I’m leaning as well the shelves you used?
I can’t help thinking that if we had ikea in SA I’d be looking for something there to modify to suit my needs.
What about that 5mm masonite with tongue and grove to make inserts for drawers.
Sometimes you just need to ask your wife.
Ice cream tubs. They are cheap as anything with or without a lid have sides so they can slide on rails.
Only thing is not transparent.
that moment your wife says what about having cupboards built in along the whole wall. Everything will fit and the magic words was there will be space for whatever else you’re planning to get. At which point I mentioned I’m planning to upgrade my lathe.
On vacation so delayed response.
Is this the picture?
Yes, I have found that juice/milk cartons with top cut out make good bins. They are free, sturdy and plentiful. Stole this idea from my dad who organized his whole shop this way.
For small parts like components I put them in pill bottles and put them in the cartons.
Big parts like transformers fit nicely.
They take up less space on bench then trays, don’t spill easily and are stackable.
You may have to zoom in to see them adequately.
Close up.

My question is organizing your whole shop, or just parts of it? When I laid out my whole shop I used a scale model. Then over the years I have added a number of little details that have improved overall organization for me. I have too much junk crammed into too small a space for my shop to ever look good, but I manage to make it all work for me.
…and now I need more bins
… since my new CNC will be arriving home as I do!.
@donkjr well, maybe a few days after you get back just to be on the safe side… :-).
@donkjr I picked up a file cabinet to keep my CNC accessories in. http://i.imgur.com/4wOqG3D.jpg
i personally like these bins. No dividers to snag on my thick fingers, no more mixing of bins. And each bin can be pulled out for use, while tabs keep the others from shifting around when closed. bast bin I have found yet, other than making my own.

I use a lot of hardware, more than most I’d imagine, but use a wall mounts rack with these hanging off the front. https://m.uline.com/h5/r/www.uline.com/BL_8768/Plastic-Shelf-Bins?keywords
Probably an overkill.
