I’m not expecting this but I designed a model in Sketchup. And then I exported it as an .stl file and for some reason just came out as a weird result when I opened it up. (_ ?)

So can someone tell me what is going on? Does it have anything to do with the version of Cura?

I agree with @Nathan_Walkner I used Sketchup for a little while and only was able to produce 1 or two working .stl files out of it. Since then I have switched to Inventor 2017 and have never had a problem

I just heard there was an extenstion warehouse. There might be an extension good for that.

@Nathan_Walkner Well nevermind. I got one from @BEN_3D . That video helps. According to his video, it said an extension called Sketchup STL (mabye called that).

It’s been a while since I used Sketchup so I don’t know if they are needed or even work anymore but I recall that some extensions made the models/stl’s usable for 3D-printing;

My previous tool chain was sketchup + netfabb + slic3r. Sketckup generated stl files are never manifold, meaning full of holes. I replaced sketchup by fusion 360, and i never had to use netfabb to fix stl, other than to rotate the output before slicing
