I’m selling my 3D printer and @ThantiK suggested that I post it here. It is a custom build based off of the Prusa I3 design. It has a laser cut fully enclosed wood/acrylic frame with removable side windows and removable door. I started out with the Prusa I2 and kept refining the printer from there. I spent a lot of time in the design process to get a rigid frame that can hold it’s tolerance over time. I have fine tuned the printer so that when I printed the 20 mm test cube the final measurements of the printed cube were 20 mm x 19.99 mm x 19.97 mm tall. I am asking $600 for the printer plus shipping if you are not able to pick up.
Specs:
MK2B Heated bed
E3D V6 hot end (1.75) w/.4 mm nozzle Bowden setup
Auto bed leveling
Ramps 1.4 control Board
Authentic Arduino brand mega 2560
Pololu A4988 stepper motor drivers
Kysan nema 17 stepper motors
Raspberry pi 3 with latest version of Octoprint and a pi cam on a gooseneck
Enclosed build chamber to allow heat buildup to reduce warping when printing with ABS (removable windows and door to allow airflow for printing with PLA)
In the video I show a USB switch for switching between external computer hookup and raspberry pi. That has been removed because the raspberry pi was not seeing the Arduino do to some incompatibility with the USB switch. The port is still on the back for external computer connection, you would just need to manually switch the USB cable over from the Raspberry pi to the external plug. Also since the video was made I have hooked up the Raspberry pi with the latest version of Octoprint version 1.2.15 and also connected the two cooling fans above the electronics.
that explains the appearance of no airflow vents on the back side. Still a nice implementation. Whoever purchases your printer will get a fabulous item, to be sure.
Can vouch for this printer. Though it’s got some custom Marlin modifications for the touchprobe used on auto bed leveling, this printer prints ABS like a champion, has virtually no skew, and has had a lot of love and care put into it. It’s not being sold due to some inadequacy, it’s just simply that Mike and I both belong to some pretty large makerspaces which now have professional-level equipment.
@Mike_Smith this printer looks amazing, you did such a great job, everything is so clean. I love the cable chains, something so simple but adds a ton of functional and astitic value. And the self leveling device was amazing!
