I’m starting to feel like a real newbie now with all my questions!

I’m trying to get a dashed line using inkscape. I’ve started a new file, created a dashed line and used stroke to path. when I try to load it into Laserweb I get a “The file has serious issues” error. I must be doing something wrong but dont know what.

Have you tried object to path?

Just tried it but it doesn’t do anything (I guess because its a stroke rather than an object?)

Try Stroke to Path

Stroke to path is what I tried first. Is there a minimum line width to use?

I’ve just tried doing stroke to path with a normal (i.e. non-dashed line) and I get the same error when loading into laserweb.

@Jeff_Lamb you have the latest build?

Yep. Checked it after last post just in case. Latest version of inkscape as well. Assuming I’m not doing anything wrong I’ll try it on another pc later.

I just tried Stork to Path with Inkscape 0.92 and it worked. @Jeff_Lamb if it fails on your other pc then post the SVG file.

My typo gave me an idea for a test case:

Lol. Can’t work out how to attach a file, but here’s a link. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvGqua9bVBe66TOMedGOHbTdtoU2

Inkscape:

LW4:

Are you on 4.0.735?

Ooooh. Just tried the .exe. Failed. Something might have happened during the release process.

Or it might be something that fixed since then. @Jorge_Robles could you produce another release please?

Will do

@Todd_Fleming https://github.com/LaserWeb/LaserWeb4-Binaries/releases/tag/v4.0.735-109

Just tried it on my Desk PC which has an older laserweb4 on it ( Frontend: 0.4.0, Backend: 4.0.50), and it works fine.

And just realised the avg file I posted didn’t have the dashed line :no_mouth:. I’m away from my machines for the next day but I’ll try the latest version on my other pc again on Sunday. Thanks.
