I’m thinking about renaming #GCodeSimulator &Printer to something better. Mainly because:
The word “Simulator” is misleading. Meanwhile the main focus is on printing and not simulation. People still ask me why a simulator needs USB OTG.
The name is just too long and not memorable enough
Its a general term, searching with Google for “Gcode Simulator” finds a lot of other simulators.
No differentiation between the PC version and the Android version
white spaces and ampersand causing trouble Some alternative names are
-GCodePrint3D
-GCodePrint
-3DPrintr (strikethrough , exists already)
-GCode2Print gcodeprintr
I would like to keep the “GCode” because it fits to the product family (GCodeInfo, GCode Simulator PC,…)
What do you think ? Any proposals ?
I tend to “GCodePrintr” because it fits well to my other product names. It is not used already and Google doesnt find much yet.
It is very similar to the “GCode Printer” Name which I have in the Google store already, but I would just rename this as well to “GCodePrintr lite” or so.
Ending up with 3 Products:
GCode SImulator (Free) -> keep the name because it primarily does simulation
GCode Simulator & Printer -> rename to “GCodePrintr”
GCode Printer -> rename to “GCodePrintr lite”
