I’m trying to slice an STL file with 0.4mm layer height, with gyroid infill with the Slic3r Prusa Edition. The outer perimeters show a height of 0.4mm; however, the infill and the first top layer has a height of 1mm. This causes the top layers to crash into the head and the print gets spoiled.
I’m using an E3D volcano with a 1mm nozzle. Combine infill is set to 1 - so not sure what’s happening here.
You may have actually found a legitimate bug in Slic3r. I’d try these settings in standard Slic3r, see if they can be reproduced, and then file a bug report on github here: https://github.com/slic3r/Slic3r
Additionally, if there’s a github for prusa edition, file a bug report there as well. There shouldn’t ever be a time where a slicer issues your hot end to be at a position lower than something already printed.
@ThantiK filed a report on the Prusa Edition github earlier today. https://github.com/prusa3d/Slic3r/issues/1112
It seems that bridges (or the first top layer in this case) are always extruded with the height of the nozzle. In my case, it got exaggerated, since I have a 1mm nozzle.
