I’m trying to use GRBl 1.1f , cmds and jog works, HOWEVER the axis never updates, I have had the same issue with ugs 1.0.9 , the lates nightly buils works,
Is this a know issue with Chilipeppr and GRBL 1.1F ?
Best to search the ChiliPeppr group to see all the posts on Grbl 1.1.
http://Chilipeppr.com/jpadie is an experimental jfiddle for GRBL 1.1. It will keep the coordinates updated. I have not used it long. Someone else pointed me to it.
I may be wrong, but I do not think the usual GRBL (http://chilipeppr.com/grbl) supports past GRBL 0.9. There is a big reordering of firmware parameters that is probably to blame for that, but I do not know the specific GRBL version in which the change happened.
At the transition to grbl 1.x @NathanielStenzel
@Justin_Adie okay. Thanks for the detail.
Just for anyone’s interest the reason for the incompatibility is that the coordinate reporting format changed. Avowedly this was to save space in 1.x (which is right against the edges of available SRAM). Beyond that there is no intrinsic lack of compatibility. All the other changes are to add support for some of the new functions in grbl 1.x and to use a more fulsome parser which should make it easier/quicker to build out support for further changes in future. There are a couple of bits to polish up before a pull request.
You have to use http://chilipeppr.com/jpadie
Yeah…GRBL1.1 supports a lot more than the older versions. Lasercutting is one thing it supports.
