I’m using a russian PLCM 6 axis board.
http://www.zappautomation.co.uk/en/cnc-controllers-ethernet/171-plcm-e3p.html
inside a modified YOOCNC6040.

It worked fine for a long time but at the moment I’m getting all kinds of interferrence and communication failes.
This doesn’t happen stopped but while jogging. Even while the spindle is not powered.

Observation:
After a few seconds of jogging.
It happens with USB and with Ethernet.

  • most of the time board crashes and MACH3 e-stops
  • sometimes I start a movement and the axis won’t stop. Other axis that are not supposed to move jitter around

The newest change is a large E-Stop button in the front.
It is connected to +5V and one input on the board via a long, shielded cable.
I’ll try giving it a connector and disconnecting it.

PC, VFD, 24V power share a common, single Earth point.
PC->USB->RS485(no earth connection)->VFD (disconnect doesn’t help.)
PC->USB->PLCM->step+dir+5V+gnd->stepper drivers<-24V
Mains->24V->water pump (not running off the stepper 24V as in the original YOOCNC6040)

Machine Body->Spindle->VFD->earth from 24V
PC->earth from 24V
PC->power from 12V DC (Atom touchscreen PC)
Stepper drivers->24V
