I'm using half meter strips of Neopixels from adafruit with an arduino Uno.

I’m using half meter strips of Neopixels from adafruit with an arduino Uno. The strip is powered by a 5v at 2A supply fromt he wall. I have things wired the same way as shown in the neopixel uber guide. I’m at lost as far as what could be going wrong. The code, in the provided link, doesn’t seem to have any effect on the strip what so ever. Since this is my first endeavor int led strips I don’t have a clue of what could be going wrong.

I’m open to any and all suggestion on how I can get the strip to react to the code.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

This group is specifically for the FastLED library - so if no one here has ideas that end up helping you, checking in with adafruit’s forums might be better.

That said - are you sure that you’ve wired DIN on the strip to pin 6 on the arduino? Do you have ground going from the strip to the arduino as well? How are you wiring power?

Again, make sure that you’re wiring things to the correct end of the strip.

Have you tried getting support on the Adafruit forums for their library? These forums are for the FastLED library. That being said, I would remove all the extra code and just attempt to turn a single LED on.

Here’s my own FastLED faq at http://www.tuline.com/dru/content/my-fastled-support-faq

@Andrew_Tuline I have tried their forums. I had asked my question there about a month ago and I got 1 response from someone who wasn’t official support. The information they gave me seem to contradict what adafruit’s Neopixel Uber guide said.

I would re-check the hardware to make sure it’s not backwards as Dan mentions and start out with a simple simple sketch, such as this one:

PS, I don’t use their library, and used up some Google-fu to find these.
