I’m wanting to build an enclosure for my incoming Prusa i3 mk2S, but i need some measurements. Hopefully ya’ll can help.

I need the height to the top of the frame without the spool holder, and to the top of a spool on the holder.

Edit: Also, Is mounting the spool sideways behind the printer viable? Or will it not be able to feed the filament correctly?

If you have 3d CAD software you can download the MK2 assembly and get all the measurements you need.

Thanks for the file, but it doesn’t really help all that much for a few reasons. one, i suck at fusion 360, and also, it seems to place the feet below the bottom plain, so getting the height is just the height from the base of the Z brace, rather than from the very bottom.

When i try to use the ruler from the bottom feet to the top in ‘front’ view, it measures diagonally from spot to spot, not along that axis. i’m not good at fusion 360 yet.

If somebody would be kind enough to grab a measuring tape and go from desk to top of the brace where the filament holder attaches, that would be amazing.

Thanks for the model though. It’s neat to play around with.
