I’m wanting to convert my i3 to vslot (x axis and y axis mostly). I’ve looked through openbuilds. Saw some ideas. What I’d like is to box the i3 and do an enclosure also.
If you’re going to be making an enclosure out of expensive rails it seems inefficient to have the innards include a sliding build plate… Ever thought about building an H-bot or CoreXY derivative?
Yes I seen the corexy kinda expensive but I have the steppers and electronics already
Take a look at http://www.makerfarm.com as he sells i3v machine made with vslot and has conversion kits to change from a i3 to i3v. I have an i3v machine and love it. So smooth and after building the kit based upon his complete video sequence the calibration cubes were right on so no changes needed to print right from the start.
