I'm wondering what will become of my PrintrBot Simple when I get my RigidBot

I’m wondering what will become of my PrintrBot Simple when I get my RigidBot from the KickStarter campaign (I’m guessing early next year).

I could give the Simple to a school, but I don’t think it’s a good long-term printer.

Would it be a good idea to re-purpose the motors, rods, and controller board to make a reprap type printer? Maybe I could give that to a school or a friend. Any other good ideas?

Use the parts to make a resin printer.

I’d spend some time with your rigidbot before you give the printer away - or even before you start talking to someone else to give it to. It may not perform to your expectations immediately or as quickly as you’d like (this is not a commentary on the printer as much as just as matter of tuning to your preference) it’ll take time to get your new printer working the way you want and you don’t want to be out a printer while you’re waiting for that.

@Shachar_Weis Resin has always seemed too messy for my taste. Though, the resolution and experience might change my mind at some point.
@Aaron_Eiche Believe me, I’m not going without a printer since I’ve had a taste!

Keep it in case the other machine breaks. You can print fixes with the second machine. Seriously. so many times I’ve done this…
