IMPORTANT Question 5 axis CNC with smoothie, Is that possible?

Hi!

First question here!

I want to buy a smoothieB to control 5 axis cnc with nema 23 to nema 32 stepper motors. Software Match 3. Is this really possible? What kind of problems may i have?
Maybe you know the 5axismaker.com proyect cnc. I want to make my own 5 axis cnc for hobby ( clone it) and I think smoothieB is the best cnc board in the market. But dont undersand if E1 and E2 conexions could support a B/C head and maybe you could help me
I plan to make my cnc proyect open with creative license because I think it could help undeveloped countries, I think its an interesting proyect.

Last tip: Im a noob im not an expert. i want to learn. here i think i can. Thanks for your time reading me! :wink:

Hey there !

Right now Smoothie firmware does not have 5-axis machining support.

You could use the extruder modules as an alternatives, but it wouldn’t be as good as native support.
