The Power sources section caught my attention. Specifically, I’m wondering how high is the risk of damage of using a constant-voltage PS, assume it’s 5V? (I typically use a Meanwell 5V 12A constant-voltage PS).

If you have a current-limiting resistor then you’re OK.

Yeah, I’m using data line resistors but not on the power injection. That would also worsen the voltage drop over the LED strip run (right?), which I want to avoid because I do pretty long runs.

The LED strips already have the correct tiny resistors for each pixel. If you’re using individual basic LEDs you’ll need to add your own resistor.
